victorious thinking

VICTORIOUS THINKING

CHRISTLIKE THOUGHTS

Php 2:5  "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus"

                Mind - phroneō (fron-eh'-o) From G5424; to exercise the mind, that is, entertain or have a sentiment or opinion; by implication to be (mentally) disposed (more or less earnestly in a certain direction); intensively to interest oneself in (with concern or obedience): - set the affection on, (be) care (-ful), (be like-, + be of one, + be of the same, + let this) mind (-ed, regard, savour, think.

                V. 5-8 emphasized the humility of Christ

LOVING THOUGHTS

1Co 13:4  Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

1Co 13:5  Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

1Co 13:6  Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

1Co 13:7  Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

Thinketh – logizomai (log-id'-zom-ahee) Middle voice from G3056; to take an inventory, that is, estimate (literally or figuratively): - conclude, (ac-) count (of), + despise, esteem, impute, lay, number, reason, reckon, suppose, think (on).

PURE THOUGHTS

Php 4:6  Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Php 4:7  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Php 4:8  Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

SUBMISSIVE THOUGHTS

II Cor. 10:4-6  (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5  Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

6  And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

·         It's a decision one must make

·         Surrender your heart to God

·         Recognize that improper behavior and irrational thinking comes from a rebellious heart who wants her way rather than God's way; who deliberately rejects God's principles; and who chooses to be unfaithful to God.

·         Know that God does not overlook rebellion.

1 Sam. 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

Set mind on spiritual things:

Rom 8:4  That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Rom 8:5  For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

Rom 8:6  For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

phroneō - (fron-eh'-o)

From G5424; to exercise the mind, that is, entertain or have a sentiment or opinion; by implication to be (mentally) disposed (more or less earnestly in a certain direction); intensively to interest oneself in (with concern or obedience): - set the affection on, (be) care (-ful), (be like-, + be of one, + be of the same, + let this) mind (-ed, regard, savour, think.

Php 4:7  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Rom 8:7  Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

PREPARED THOUGHTS

1 Peter 1:13 - Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

1Pe 1:14  As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:

1Pe 1:15  But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

1Pe 1:16  Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

Mind – dianoia (dee-an'-oy-ah)

From G1223 and G3563; deep thought, properly the faculty (mind or its disposition), by implication its exercise: - imagination, mind, understanding

Php 4:13  I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

"You sow a thought, you reap an act; sow an act and you reap a habit;

sow a habit and you reap a character, sow a character and you reap a destiny." – Charles Reade

"Watch your thoughts, for they become words

Watch your words, for they become actions

Watch your actions, for they become habits

Watch your habits, for they become character

Watch your character, for it becomes destiny."

"Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain

but it takes character and self-control to be understanding and forgiving."

    At times I find that I "limit" God from doing "above all that I ask or think"
because I fail to allow His power to work within me. (Ephesians 3:20)
It's an ALL or NONE RESPONSE!
I can DO ALL through Him but I can DO NONE without Him.

HAVING A RIGHT MIND

"HAVING THE RIGHT MIND"

Dear Polly, Let me thank you again for being a vessel fit for the Master's use... I sometimes tell my ladies in SS class that the Lord allows some trials my way so that  i'll have something (of my learning) to share to others or so that I would be a more effective (experienced) comforter...

Knowing I am not alone in my "mind struggles" have been of great help esp. the past few months when the Lord allowed me to connect with "weathered" saints who go/have gone through similar struggles themselves. We have been greatly encouraged as we pray for one another and share verses the Lord has given during our "Zelda moments."

The last couple of months, I had "Casting down imaginations... bringing down every thought captive to the obedience of Christ" at least three times in my journal and preaching notes...

Also, Col. "But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtility"
and Eph. 6:11 "stand against the wiles of the devil..."  In one of my entries I wrote: Today, the Lord reminded me who the author of non-productive imagination is = the devil. To give in to wrong thinking is to give in to the subtle workings of the devil!!!

Where can I go for power to DELIVER me from this DECEIVER? In Daniel 5:12, it said Belshazzar extolled Daniel for the "excellent spirit, and knowledge.. and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and showing of hard sentences, and DISSOLVING DOUBTS.." found in him. These, Daniel acknowledged as all of the Lord, Daniel 2:20-23 "Blessed be the name of God... fo wisdom and might are His... He knoweth what is in darkness and the light dwelleth with Him.."

I need to go to Daniel's power source and ask Him for help (I loved your "ezer" study) to dissolve all doubts, to not listen to the devil's lies and to not entertain these doubts AT ALL! For all trouble starts when we START taking the lies as truths and then reacting to those lies, sadly, usually in a sinful way.

I daily have to pray to have a MIND set on the Lord and not on IMAGINATIONS that "borrow trouble from the future."

"This I recall to my MIND, therefore have I hope. "It is of the Lord's mercies that (I) am not consumed (by my imaginations) :-) " Lam. 3;21-23

"Prepare your minds for action... fix your hope completely on the grace of God" 1 Pet. 1:13

"Be renewed in the spirit of your mind" Eph. 4:22-24

Four days ago, my last entry quotes: "Let the peace of God RULE in your hearts" which suggests that THERE is an ongoing struggle between angst, fears, worries and trusting God. I need to let His peace RULE or should I say OVERRULE these wrong thoughts.

Twas lovely to have a lot of these gleanings spoken back to me today.

love from your newest prayer warrior,
Ina

ABC's of SPIRITUAL RESUSCITATION

It was August 1, 1989 and I was succumbing to unhappy thoughts. I was in the last leg of my Medical Board Exam review and was… getting insecure of classmates who seem to be far advanced in their studies… anxious at the thought of the exam that looms ahead… and was beset by personal problems. The Lord brought great comfort through this list that a dear friend and prayer warrior, Ms. Brenda Garren, gave me months before that day… may it do the same for you…
MY NEVER AGAIN LIST…
1st : Never again will I confess I CAN'T for "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Philippians 4:13
2nd : Never again will I confess I LACK, for "My God shall supply all of my need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19
3rd : Never again will I confess FEAR, for "God hath not given me the spirit of fear, but of love and of a sound mind." 2 Timothy 1:7
4th : Never again will I confess DOUBT and lack of faith, for "God hath given to every man the measure of faith." Romans 12:3
5th : Never again will I confess WEAKNESS, for "the Lord is the strength of my life…"Psalm 27:1… and "the people that know their God shall be strong and do exploits." Daniel 11:32
6TH : Never again will I confess DEFEAT, for "God always causeth me to triumph in Christ Jesus." 2 Corinthians 2:14
7th : Never again will I confess WORRIES and FRUSTRATIONS, for I am "Casting all my cares upon Him for He careth for me." 1 Peter 5:7
In Christ I am "CARE-FREE"
FINDING YOURSELF UNHAPPY?? HAVE A PLAN!
NIP & THANK & SING! I nip the unhappy thought in the bud and start counting my blessings… then next thing I know, I am SINGING!! I have learned to GO BACK TO THE BASICS… if medicine has its ABC's of CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) then I have come up with what I call my ABCs of SPIRITUAL RESUSCITATION. May your souls be revived through this plan.~ Ina de la Paz-Bunyi(ipb)
A - ALLOWING God to speak to me through READING and MEDITATING on His word. *To have a HEALTHY HAPPY HEART: EAT & DRINK (God's Word) & REST RIGHT (on the Lord)!
B - BELIEVING His Word to be true (taking God at his Word!!) My dearest Godly, level headed husband Dan; once gave me a poster that read "Worrying is like rocking in a rocking chair. It gives you something to do – but it doesn't get you anywhere!" How true! To have a HEALTHY HAPPY HEART: THINK RIGHT! "
C - COMMUNICATING with Him through PRAYER at all times, making sure to CONFESS SINS. *To have a HEALTHY HAPPY HEART: PRAY RIGHT!
We of course need to also D - DO what His Word says!*To have a HEALTHY HAPPY HEART: DO RIGHT!
E - EXALT Him (doing all for his Glory!). F - FELLOWSHIP WITH BELIEVERS and G - GO and
The Bible is our Spiritual Life Policy, we will know and get our BENEFITS
as we regularly read and study it carefully.
Although precariously perched
Atop life's turbulent seas
My heart sits calm and is at rest.
Life's alarms and terrors cease
Not a thing my peace can seize--
I'm safe within my Father's breast"! ipb
"That the trial of your faith… might be found
unto the praise and honor and glory
at the appearing of Jesus Christ… whom having not seen, ye love…
YE REJOICE WITH JOY UNSPEAKABLE and full of glory." (1Pe 1:7 – 8)

Ina can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth her.."
